Every Ekans card

The short version

Ekans has four printings in Pokémon TCG Pocket, across four expansions — the earliest in Genetic Apex and the most recent in Promo A. It is a Basic Darkness-type Pokémon printed at between 60 and 70 HP, weak to Fighting, with a retreat cost of 1. They run to two rarities — three Commons and one Shiny. The hardest to pull is the Shiny from Eevee Grove, at about 1 in 279 packs, or 1,000 Pack Points to buy outright. Nine hunts in ten end inside 643 packs, which is about 11 months at the two free packs a day the game gives you. The printings come out of six different packs. The most recent is Ekans #056, from an expansion that shipped in October 2024. That printing attacks with Poison Sting. The card’s own words: “By dislocating its jaw, it can swallow prey larger than itself. After a meal, it curls up and rests.” It has been drawn by four artists.
