Every Magneton card

The short version

Magneton has eight printings in Pokémon TCG Pocket, across seven expansions — the earliest in Genetic Apex and the most recent in Pulsing Aura. It is a Stage 1 Lightning and Metal-type Pokémon printed at between 80 and 90 HP, weak to Fighting, with a retreat cost of 2. They run to four rarities — one Common, three Uncommons, three Rares and one Shiny. The hardest to pull is the Shiny from Wisdom of Sea and Sky, at about 1 in 559 packs, or 1,000 Pack Points to buy outright. Nine hunts in ten end inside 1,285 packs, which is about 1.8 years at the two free packs a day the game gives you. The printings come out of eight different packs. The most recent is Magneton #053, from an expansion that shipped in April 2026. That printing attacks with Magnetic Blast for 50. The card’s own words: “They’re formed by several Magnemite linked together. They frequently appear when sunspots flare up.” It has been drawn by six artists, kirisAki more than anyone else with three cards.
