Every Alolan Ninetales card

6 printings across 4 expansions. Evolves from Alolan Vulpix.

The short version

Alolan Ninetales has six printings in Pokémon TCG Pocket, across four expansions — the earliest in Celestial Guardians and the most recent in Promo A. It is a Stage 1 Water-type Pokémon printed at between 110 and 150 HP, weak to Metal, with a retreat cost of 1. They run to six rarities — one Rare, one Double Rare, one Art Rare, one Super Rare, one Special Art Rare and one Shiny Super Rare. The hardest to pull is the Shiny Super Rare from Ruler of the Skies, at about 1 in 479 packs, or 1,350 Pack Points to buy outright. Nine hunts in ten end inside 1,103 packs, which is about 1.5 years at the two free packs a day the game gives you. The printings come out of the Vol. 8, Ruler of the Skies, Gardevoir and Lunala packs. The most recent is Alolan Ninetales #070, from an expansion that shipped in October 2024. That printing attacks with Blizzard for 60. The card’s own words: “A deity resides in the snowy mountains where this Pokémon lives. In ancient times, it was worshiped as that deity’s incarnation.” It has been drawn by four artists, PLANETA CG Works more than anyone else with three cards.
