What to restart for in Genetic Apex

Genetic Apex is where most players start, which makes it where most restart time gets spent — often on the wrong targets.
Pick the deck, then the card
The mistake is picking a card because it looks rare and then working out what to do with it. Decide what you want to play first; the target follows from that, and it is usually less rare than the card you would have chased.
An anchor that a whole archetype is built around does more for your first month than a scarcer card with nothing to pair it with.
Two solid pulls beat one spectacular one
One standout card leaves you with a single deck and no fallback if it gets balanced. Two decent ones give you options. "Any two strong ex cards" is also dramatically faster to hit than one named card — often by an order of magnitude in attempts.
Where the time actually goes
Total time is attempts multiplied by cycle length, and cycle length is the half you control. Skipping dialogue and knowing the menu path is worth more than any targeting strategy.
Run your target through the odds calculator before you start. The gap between the median and the unlucky tenth is where good evenings go to die, and it is much wider than it feels.
The collector case
If it is the art you want rather than the win rate, none of the above applies — rarity is the point. Just go in knowing you are chasing the long tail on purpose, and price your own evening honestly before you commit to it.
Work out your own odds
The game’s real pull rates, turned into packs, days and money — so you can see what chasing this yourself actually costs before you start.
