Every Bulbasaur card

The short version

Bulbasaur has seven printings in Pokémon TCG Pocket, across five expansions — the earliest in Genetic Apex and the most recent in Promo A. It is a Basic Grass-type Pokémon printed at between 60 and 70 HP, weak to Fire, with a retreat cost of 1. They run to four rarities — four Commons, one Rare, one Art Rare and one Shiny. The hardest to pull is the Shiny from Celestial Guardians, at about 1 in 559 packs, or 1,000 Pack Points to buy outright. Nine hunts in ten end inside 1,285 packs, which is about 1.8 years at the two free packs a day the game gives you. The printings come out of the Crimson Blaze, Deluxe, Solgaleo and Mewtwo packs. The most recent is Bulbasaur #023, from an expansion that shipped in October 2024. That printing attacks with Vine Whip for 40. The card’s own words: “There is a plant seed on its back right from the day this Pokémon is born. The seed slowly grows larger.” It has been drawn by five artists, Narumi Sato more than anyone else with three cards.
