Every Venusaur card

The short version

Venusaur has eight printings in Pokémon TCG Pocket, across five expansions — the earliest in Genetic Apex and the most recent in Promo A. It is a Stage 2 Grass-type Pokémon printed at between 160 and 190 HP, weak to Fire, with a retreat cost of 3. They run to six rarities — two Rares, two Double Rares, one Art Rare, one Super Rare, one Shiny and one Shiny Super Rare. The hardest to pull is the Shiny Super Rare from Celestial Guardians, at about 1 in 479 packs, or 1,350 Pack Points to buy outright. Nine hunts in ten end inside 1,103 packs, which is about 1.5 years at the two free packs a day the game gives you. The printings come out of five different packs. The most recent is Venusaur #018, from an expansion that shipped in October 2024. That printing attacks with Mega Drain for 80. The card’s own words: “Its plant blooms when it is absorbing solar energy. It stays on the move to seek sunlight.” It has been drawn by five artists, PLANETA CG Works more than anyone else with four cards.
